YouTube is changing its search results

A direct message to viewers (not creators):

"We're making it easier for you to find the content you're most interested in with an update to the way searching on YouTube works:  We're going to begin displaying search results based on the particular segments of long-form videos that are most relevant to your search. And, when we surface one of these segments to you as a search result, the red progress bar will show you where the segment is located in the video and the content will start to play from there! This feature is starting to roll out across desktop + iOS and Android devices. We hope the update makes it simpler for you to explore topics you love and want to learn more about. Happy searching!"

Hmm... For some, this is simplification and ease, but for others, it might look like a reduction in watch time.

But let's not panic prematurely - we've seen changes before. Let's see how it goes.

What do you think? Is this a good change or a coming disappointment?
